A DeepMosaics alternative that runs online

DeepMosaics is a free, open-source project that removes mosaics from images and videos on your own computer. PureFrame does the same job online: no Python, no CUDA, no model files to download. You upload the video, check a free preview, and pay per minute only if you want the full result.

What is DeepMosaics?

DeepMosaics is an open-source project published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It detects mosaic areas and reconstructs them with image-to-image translation models. You run it from source with Python, PyTorch and FFmpeg, or through a Windows GUI build, and you download the pre-trained models separately. It works on CPU, but an NVIDIA GPU with CUDA is much faster.

When DeepMosaics is the better choice

  • You want a free tool and don't mind the setup.
  • You prefer that your files never leave your computer.
  • You also want to add mosaics or process still images.

When PureFrame is the better choice

  • You don't have an NVIDIA graphics card, or you use a Mac.
  • You don't want to install Python, CUDA and models.
  • You want a ready-to-watch MP4, up to 4K, without tuning settings.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is DeepMosaics free?

Yes. DeepMosaics is free and open source under the GPL-3.0 license. You provide the hardware and handle the installation.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Everything happens in the browser, and the processing runs on our GPUs.

Can I remove a mosaic on a Mac?

Yes. PureFrame runs in the browser, so it works on Mac, Windows and Linux without installing anything.

Is my video kept private?

Source files are deleted once processing completes, processed videos 7 days later, and uploads are never used to train AI models.
